There's no media insurance policy called "Defamation Insurance," but Errors and Omissions Insurance may cover your business if material you write or produce for a client leads to a defamation lawsuit.

Some General Liability Insurance policies also include coverage for libel and slander lawsuits under their advertising injury coverage, but generally speaking, ad agencies should ask their agents about defamation coverage under their E&O policy.

For media professionals, General Liability Insurance usually specifically excludes advertising injury coverage. Consider instead an E&O policy.
